Uniform Requirements

Uniforms.

There is a Uniform Sale on Friday July 24th from noon to 5pm in the Multipurpose Room. Although these aren’t mandatory your child needs to have the appropriate clothes on the first day of school. We’d like to help you with that process. Based on my experience last year, I have come up with some notes. If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to email either one of us! If we don’t know the answer- we will get an answer for you!

Bancroft Uniform Company is the company St. Teresa’s uses. They have uniform events a few months prior to school starting and the month school begins in August. They are expensive but well made. Come prepared. They accept credit cards, checks and cash. Bancroft sets up in the Multipurpose Room and the 5th Street door will be open for easy access. Bancroft has a website that you can order from- you must create an account first and then input the school name and password: teresaofavilacarsoncity. However, we advise, the first time around, to buy your uniforms at the events St. Teresa offers- you can ask other parents questions and also the Bancroft staff. You can buy everything you will need at the sale and if they run out or do not have the correct size they will order it and ship it to you for free. We suggest the below buying these essentials for starting off.

Girls (K-5):
·      Jumpers
·      Skorts (We personally don’t suggest these because they do not fit properly and for the money you are putting out why pay more to have them altered. Unless you can sew yourself…. stick with the jumpers)
·      Logo collared shirts in any of the three colors (grey, forest green or white- long or short sleeve) These are a required everyday uniform.
·      Peter Pan white collared shirt (Mass clothes)
·      Logo forest green sweater (vest and long sleeve)
·      Hair bows and socks
·      Logo Fleece jacket
·      Logo Rain Jacket
·      Navy shorts*
·      Navy pants*

Boys (K-5):
·      Logo collared shirts in any of the three colors (grey, forest green, or white- long or short sleeve)
·      Tie & navy belt (Mass Clothes)
·      Collared white shirt (Mass Clothes)
·      Navy shorts*
·      Navy pants*

*We suggest buying the navy blue shorts and pants for both boys and girls from other sources. Must be uniform pants/shorts…. No cargo pockets allowed. No pencil leg or leggings for girls. They can be found significantly cheaper at Target, Walmart, LandsEnd and even on Zulily. Do your research.

PE Uniform Requirements (only allowed to be worn on PE days):
·      PE logo shorts
·      PE logo shirt
·      PE Sweat pants (these shrink- even in cold water and low heat- we suggest buying a size up)
·      PE Sweatshirt (same as above- these shrink, buy a size up)

Socks: socks for girls and boys must cover their ankle. White, forest green, and or navy are allowed. Bancroft does sells socks and knit tights.

Shoes: Shoes may not have a heel for girls, they cannot light up, and they cannot have wheels. Wear your basic tennis shoe that are comfortable and simple in color.

Mass Attire:
Girls must wear a jumper with Peter Pan collared shirt (short or long sleeve) and black or navy dress shoes or their skort with peter pan collared shirt. In some seasons the forest green sweater vest or sweater is required. I would send it in your child’s backpack every Mass so he/she has it incase.

Boys are required to wear a white collared shirt (short or long sleeve) with navy tie, navy pants, and dress shoes (loafers from payless worked for us). Again, in some seasons the forest green sweater vest or sweater is required. Again, I would send it in your child’s backpack every Mass so he/she has it incase.

Other notes on uniforms:
·      The light blue shirts are for Pre-School and Pre-K students. They must wear this shirt along with any shorts/pants and tennis shoes.
·      Kindergarten students do not require PE uniforms (so do NOT purchase for your kindergartener) but all the other grades do.
·      Khaki pants are only for 6th grade and above. No pencil leg or legging pants allowed for the girls.
